ANNUAL REPORT 2015/2016
(iii)
Key Executives
The Group segments its employees into 3 key groupings:
a) individuals who are best able to influence the long-term strategy and direction of the organisation;
b) key employees across the organisation who have greater influence over business outcomes; and
c) all other employees.
In creating a total remuneration framework for segment (a) and (b) employees, the Group adopts both short and
long-term incentives in addition to the fixed element of the employees’ remuneration.
Short-term rewards are cash-based and reflect both the individual and business performance over the relevant
financial period. The amount to be awarded is based on the profits of the business units as well as the individual’s
performance score during the annual appraisal process.
The Group adopts the MTQ Share Plan as a long-term compensation scheme which rewards the participants, who
are largely segment (a) employees, when and after pre-determined performance conditions are met, based on a
percentage of annual base salary subject to the discretion of the Remuneration Committee. Further details on the
operation of MTQ Share Plan are disclosed in the Directors’ Statement section.
